Seasons of the Witch: Writing the Witch
A one-off Workshop to Help you summon your own witch story.
Mary Poppins, Evil Edna, Grotbags, Lady Macbeth, Granny Weatherwax! What is it that makes these witch characters so enduring? They lived according to their own rules; they dressed how they wanted to dress; they lived in edgelands and got their power from this edge state. In this workshop we will write (or maybe) summon your inner witch from your imagination by divining what makes the witches of fiction work. We’ll look at the bodies and spaces witches of fiction occupy, and how they derive their power from their body and relationship to the lands they inhabit, we’ll shape and name our witches and give them a familiar. By the end of the session you’ll know your witch well enough to begin their story.
